Is a Motion Sensor Or "alarm System" Sensor a hidden camera?

Usually not. Here's the specific thing that separates an innocent one from one worth a second look.

Why it's usually nothing

Legitimate in short-term rentals for security systems, and normally mounted high in a corner with a wide-angle view — which is also the ideal geometry for a camera.

The tell that actually matters

A real motion sensor is usually a simple white dome or rectangle with no visible lens detail. One with a small dark circular lens, or one that seems oversized for a basic PIR sensor, deserves the flashlight pass. Also check whether it’s part of a labeled security system (a sticker, a matching keypad) or a standalone unexplained device.

The power check

Hardwired or battery — either is normal for this category, so judge by the lens detail instead.

This is one object out of the full 90-second sweep. If anything here is positive, run the flashlight lens pass on it before doing anything else.
