Penal Code § 21.15 (Invasive Visual Recording)
What it prohibits
Photographing, recording, or broadcasting a visual image of another person’s intimate area, or of a person in a place where they have a reasonable expectation of privacy, without consent and with intent to invade their privacy. Also covers distributing such images knowing how they were obtained. The current version does not require proving a sexual motive — only intent to invade privacy.
Penalty
State jail felony — 180 days to 2 years in state jail, fine up to $10,000.
