Is a Picture Frame a hidden camera?
Usually not. Here's the specific thing that separates an innocent one from one worth a second look.
Why it's usually nothing
Every room has several, and they’re part of the room’s decorating story, which is exactly why they’re a favorite camera housing — they’re supposed to be there and supposed to hang at eye level.
The tell that actually matters
Check whether it matches the room’s style and the other frames in the unit — mismatched frame, mismatched subject matter, or one hung slightly askew compared to a symmetric gallery wall is the "doesn’t belong to the story" tell from Chapter 4. Look for a hole in the mat or frame edge that isn’t part of the artwork.
The power check
A frame that’s heavier than it looks, or has a cable run behind it to a wall you can’t easily explain, is worth the flashlight pass.
