Is a Wi-Fi Router a hidden camera?

Why it's usually nothing

The tell that actually matters
The router itself is very rarely the camera. The tell is a second small box near it that you can’t explain — sometimes a legitimate mesh extender, sometimes the private network a hidden camera streams to. Note the router’s brand and cable count when you arrive (Chapter 5’s baseline step) so an unexplained second device stands out later.
The power check
Always on — the concerning signal is an extra device, not the router’s own power state.
