Why it's usually nothing
Standard bathroom equipment in almost every rental and hotel room, either sitting on the counter or clipped into a wall holder aimed generally at the mirror and sink area.
The tell that actually matters
Dryer-cameras and dryer-holder-cameras are both real, sold products — the lens hides in the nozzle grille, the handle, or the mounting bracket itself. Check the nozzle vents and the holder’s bracket for a hole that looks darker or more recessed than the rest of the grille pattern, and run the Chapter 4 flashlight-glint pass across it. A holder mounted with a view across the whole bathroom rather than just cradling the dryer near the outlet is the placement anomaly to notice.
The power check
