The statute

Utah Code § 76-12-307 (Recorded or Photographed Voyeurism)

What it prohibits

Utah bans intentionally using technology to secretly or surreptitiously record — by video, photograph, or other means — a person to view a body part for which they have a reasonable expectation of privacy, whether or not clothed, without their knowledge or consent. A public restroom is expressly included as a place where that expectation applies. Renumbered from former § 76-9-702.7, effective May 2025 — this page cites the current section.

Penalty

Class A misdemeanor for the base offense; third-degree felony if the victim is under 14, the recording happens in a sex-designated privacy space not matching the offender’s sex, or it’s combined with related offenses.
