Is a Reusable Water Bottle a hidden camera?

Usually not. Here's the specific thing that separates an innocent one from one worth a second look.

Why it's usually nothing

Hosts frequently leave one as a welcome touch, and guests bring their own too, so an extra bottle sitting on a desk or nightstand is one of the least suspicious objects in any rental.

The tell that actually matters

Bottle-cameras are a real, openly sold product with the lens built into the cap, the base, or hidden behind the brand label. Check those three spots for a dot that isn’t a vent hole or part of the printed logo, and run the Chapter 4 flashlight-glint pass across the cap and label area specifically. A bottle propped upright and aimed at the bed rather than lying naturally on its side or standing where you’d actually reach for a drink is the placement tell that matters most.

The power check

Battery-only, no cable to trace — judge this one on the lens dot and, same as the other battery objects on this list, an unexplained device turning up in the Chapter 6 Wi-Fi scan if it streams over a network.

This is one object out of the full 90-second sweep. If anything here is positive, run the flashlight lens pass on it before doing anything else.
