Is a Humidifier Or Essential Oil Diffuser a hidden camera?

Usually not. Here's the specific thing that separates an innocent one from one worth a second look.

Why it's usually nothing

A common courtesy item in bedrooms and living areas, normally just misting water or oil with a soft glow, and expected to be plugged in and running most of the time.

The tell that actually matters

These are openly sold as camera housings because the vapor outlet and the ambient light ring both give a lens somewhere to hide — check the vent openings and the light ring itself for one hole that looks slightly darker or more recessed than the others, and shine a flashlight across it at an angle the way Chapter 4 describes. A unit that never actually produces mist or scent despite being plugged in and "on" is a stronger tell than the housing itself.

The power check

Always plugged in, so power alone tells you nothing — the useful check is the Chapter 6 Wi-Fi scan, since a diffuser-camera has to join a network to stream video and shows up as an unexplained device, often with a generic or camera-brand name.

This is one object out of the full 90-second sweep. If anything here is positive, run the flashlight lens pass on it before doing anything else.
